La recente vicenda della truffa aggravata di due falsi Carabinieri ad un ottantenne di San Giorgio del Sannio è la tangibile evidenza del particolare e dedicato impegno che l’Arma territoriale di Benevento sta rivolgendo per contrastare questa tipologia di esecrabili episodi, spesso a carattere seriale in danno della debole fascia della popolazione anziana. Come anche in questo caso, vi è un’oggettiva gravità della condotta criminosa in grado si sopraffare la libertà di autodeterminazione di anziani preventivamente “selezionati”. Spesso il truffatore compie il raggiro riferendo all’anziana vittima di dover consegnare un pacco per il “nipote”, chiedendo somme di denaro, spesso di rilevanti importi. Ricordiamo, tra i tantissimi fatti, quelli avvenuti nei mesi scorsi e per i quali gli autori sono stati deferiti in stato di libertà all’Autorità Giudiziaria,: – Maggio, i Carabinieri di Pesco Sannita, individuavano tre uomini che avevano ricevuto la somma di 2.000 €; – Novembre, i Carabinieri di Cerreto Sannita unitamente a personale del Commissariato di P.S. di Telese Terme, individuavano un uomo ed una donna che avevano ricevuto la somma di 2.050 €; – Dicembre, i Carabinieri di Cerreto Sannita, rintracciavano due uomini che tentavano una truffa di 4.000 € in danno di una 81 enne oppure quando i Carabinieri delle Stazioni CC di S.Giorgio la Molara, di S.Marco de Cavoti e della Compagnia CC di S.Bartolomeo in Galdo, identificavano due uomini che avevano ricevuto la somma di 2.000 €. Un’altra modalità di truffa è stata riscontrata dai CC di S.Marco de’ Cavoti, i quali identificavano un uomo che preannunciandosi telefonicamente con funzionario postale incaricato alla riscossione, aveva ricevuto da un’anziana donna la somma di 4.150 €. In tutti questi casi, fondamentale è stata la collaborazione con la locale popolazione, mediante segnalazioni ai locali Carabinieri e proficua risulta dunque la campagna informativa che l’Arma continua a diffondere in diverse forme e modi e di cui si riporta un opuscolo informativo.
